DIGOS City ― For almost two years eluding from the long arms of the law, a farmer wanted for alleged rape charges fell into the hands of the authorities in the afternoon of May 22, a police report said.
Delfin Landem Aguan, 56, a resident of Purok-5, Barangay Malongon, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur who was the subject of an arrest warrant for rape issued on October 20, 2021, yielded to the authorities who launched a manhunt operation on Monday.
Aguan, a farmer, was listed as Number 8 in the wanted list of wanted persons in the province, said Captain Rodrigo Dumangas, Jr., Magsaysay police chief.
The joint forces of the CIDG, DSPFU, DSPPO, PIU, and other police units served the arrest warrant to Aguan at Purok-28, Barangay Poblacion, Magsaysay, Davao del Sur at about 12:10 pm on that day.
Regional Trial Court (RTC-11) Branch-21, in Bansalan, Davao del Sur Judge Carfelita Cadiente-Flores issued the warrant of arrest against Aguan for three counts of rape with homicide with no bail bond recommended for his temporary liberty.
Aguan was placed under the custody of Magsaysay police station, the report stated.
