A man crossing the National Highway along Barangay Sta. Cruz, Tagoloan town was hit by a delivery van yesterday morning. The man was left sprawling in the middle of the highway while the van careened to the left shoulder.
The Tagoloan rescue team was quick to respond and was able to stabilize the victim before loading him into the ambulance. The accident immediately caused a traffic gridlock while the victim was still attended to.
In a phone interview, Tagoloan Police Executive Master Sergeant Teody De Oro, Traffic Investigator, identified the victim as Jopet Quilecio, a resident of Zone 1, Sta Cruz. The driver of the van was identified as Emmanuel Aguisanda of Zone 6, Balubal, this city.
It was not determined what caused Quilecio to be hit by the van, and an investigation was still ongoing as of this posting.
