IRRESPONSIBLE mothers? Or just mere victims of circumstances?

Whatever the reason, the innocent children that they left aside appeared more distressing, if not disturbing like another one being dumped in Cagayan de Oro and found in a grassy field this Saturday morning.

The newly-born baby boy was discovered crying at about 5 am in a secluded area of Kabina or at the back of a Shell gasoline station in barangay Kauswagan, this city.

Wrapped in a blanket, the crying baby got the attention first of stray dogs that kept barking until nearby residents checked on the grassy spot and found him in a heart-rending condition.

Kalooy sa bata maayo gani wala gitangag o gipaak sa mga iro,” one Corazon Cancino said.

Concerned residents had noticed some bloodstain at the spot where the baby lay.

Bombo Radyo reporter Laurence Geralde believed the child ― who’s now under the health care unit of Kauswagan ― had just been born “kay wala pa naputol iyang pusod.”

Inosente intawon kalisod sa kalibutan, apan dili baya niya kabubut-on nga mahimugso. Pormal na lang unta nga ipanghatag sa in need og bata,” commented another netizen Emmanuel Menoc.

Some weeks ago, at least two newly-born babies were also found in the province of Misamis Oriental.

One was not lucky dead floating in the river of Jasaan, while the other was full of life abandoned at the doorsteps of a house in Talisayan placed in a carton with some coins on it amounting to P25.
