MEAT and fish vendors at Cogon Market have moved their stalls outside the market due to the construction of a waste water treatment facility funded by the local government with a budget of P31 million.
The facility aims to manage wastewater from the market and surrounding community as part of the city’s broader plan to improve sanitation and waste management.
To avoid disruptions and health risks during construction, vendors temporarily relocated outside the market. They continue to sell meat and fish to residents while work is ongoing.
The local government has asked the public for patience as the project proceeds.
The facility is expected to be completed in the coming months.
Once finished, vendors will return to their indoor stalls, and waste in the area will be processed by the new facility.
In the meantime, vendors continue operating outside the market to serve customers from Cogon and nearby areas.
