DIGOS City ― An 18-year-old man who was driving a motorcycle was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital after he was figured in a head-on collision with another motorcycle along Sta. Ana Road in Barangay Tres de Mayo, Digos City at about 2:20 am of Tuesday.
In a police spot report, the fatality identified as Christian Paul S. Pusta, 18, a resident of Aurora 6th Street, Barangay San Jose, Digos City was driving a Honda-RS motorcycle with plate number 3697LL en route to the Davao-Cotabato national highway through the Sta. Ana diversion road when the incident occurred.
Traffic investigators said the second vehicle, a Yamaha Mio Sporty motorcycle heading to the opposite direction of the road driven by Alvin Ponpon, Jr., 22, a resident of Purok Padema Dam Site in Barangay Tres de Mayo together with his back rider identified as Alvin Abapo, 23, a resident of Digos City.
Upon reaching the place of the incident, specifically, fronting the Digos City Slaughterhouse in Sitio Sta. Ana, Barangay Tres de Mayo, the motorcycles collided with each other causing injuries to the drivers and the back rider, the police said.
Emergency responders of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office rushed them to Davao del Sur Provincial Hospital in Digos City for immediate medical treatment.
However, the police confirmed that Pusta, the driver of the Honda RS motorcycle, was already dead upon reaching the hospital.
