By Nora Soriño Iligan City Bureau Chief Ric Palahang and Sita Asequia Correspondents Iligan City — The barangay chairman of Tambacan, this city is currently on leave following rumors that he will be suspended. A check with the barangays revealed that Barangay Chair  Jimmy Sale is on leave. The officer-in-charge, Kagawad Arana yesterday said Sale has been on leave for a week now and that they were not informed as to what matters he had to attend to on such leave. But he was due to return in two weeks, Arana said. “This is not on account of such rumor of suspension,” the kagawad said, adding that there is no actual suspension received yet. This was in connection with persistent stories of drug problems in his area of responsibility and that he refuses to accompany police during raids in his barangay. Tambacan, to note, is teeming with drug trafficking issues, second only to Barangay Saray, here. The city has 44 barangays, seven of which are in the hinterlands.
