POLICE said Barangay Lumbayao in Valencia City has been placed under a strict enhanced community quarantine and not the Quezon town in Bukidnon.
This came after Bukidnon's first Covid-19 case was recorded on the Valencia barangay.
Valencia police chief Surki Sereñas said no one is allowed to get in and get out of the barangay except for those with passcards because they have to transport essential and perishable goods in the region.
He said this is also in response to the directive from the agriculture department to ensure the smooth delivery of agricultural and fishery products in areas under community quarantine.
“We are doing it in batches. Likely 10 vehicles after another,” said Sereñas.
He said there are initial field reports that some truckers are having a hard time in the delivery of goods due to massive traffic build-up at checkpoints set up in Barangay Lumbayao due to the orders of a strict ECQ.
Barangay Lumbayao is a hinterland village of Valencia City placed along the highway and shares common borders of San Fernando town in Bukidnon, according to Sereñas.
“Rest assured the local officials and the police will not leave the people of Lumbayao behind,” said Sereñas. (Ben Balce)
