By Ben Serrano, Correspondent BUTUAN City — After raiding a suspected marijuana plantation in Baran-gay Waloe, Loreto, Agusan de Sur worth P6.6 million last June 15, another batch marijuana buds with an estimated value of P4.56 million were confiscated in Barangay Valentina, Lapaz, in the same province on Monday. Meanwhile, the following day Tuesday, police seized P177 thousand worth of suspected shabu after a raid of four houses in Barangay 22, Bading, this city. Reports from Lapaz Municipal Police and Butuan City Central Police offices, respectively, to Police Regional Office 13, here, identified the two suspected shabu pushers as Vincent C. Gaje and Randy A. Perez while their companions identified as Romeo Burdeos and Francisco Plaza were able to evade arrest. Police, however, could not explain why the other two suspected big time shabu pushers managed to escape considering the four suspects were living in one barangay. Armed with search warrants issued by local court, operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit, the Butuan City Police Station 2, and Regional Public Safety Battalion 13 (RPSB 13) launched the operation against Bur-deos, Plaza, Gaje, and Perez. Joint operatives seized six sachets of suspected shabu from the house of the suspects. The confiscated illegal drugs shabu weighed about 15 grams with a value of P177 thousand per Dangerous Drugs Board valuation and assorted drug paraphernalia. Gaje and Perez are currently detained at the Criminal Investigation Unit 13 pending the filing of criminal charges against them. Meanwhile, in the marijuana confiscation, acting on the information given by Barangay Chairman Mar-celino Organilla, Barangay Captain of Valentina, Lapaz, Agusan del Sur, operatives from Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Branch, personnel of Lapaz Municipal Police Station, members of Regional Intelligence Division and 26th Infantry Battalion conducted illegal drugs operation yesterday in KM 32, Brgy Valentina, Lapaz, Agu-san del Sur and recovered abandoned marijuana stalks weighing 36,500 grams with approximate Dangerous Drug Board value of P4,562,500. Later, authorities were able to recover 30 pieces of marijuana plants with approximate Dangerous Drug Board value of P6 thousand planted in the same area. The marijuana stalks are now under the custody of Regional Crime Laboratory Office 13 for confirmatory testing and proper disposition. Meanwhile, Police Chief Supt. Rolando B. Felix, regional director Police regional Office 13 encouraged the community to report to the police any suspected illegal drug activities in their localities.
