A businessman is now languishing in jail after he was arrested for violating the Republic Act 9262.
Police Provincial Director Rolindo Suguilon of Misamis Occidental, identified the suspect as Joven Ello, 42, residing at Purok 5B, Barangay Tabo-o, Jimenez of the said province.
Suguilon said Ello was arrested for committing a crime in relation to the anti-violence against women and children law of the RA 9262.
The suspect was arrested by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Presiding Judge Roy Pabriga Murallo, of the Regional Trial Court (RTC), Branch 13, 10th Judicial Region, Oroquieta City Misamis Occidental.
The same Judge recommended a bail bond of P72,000 for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
It was learned that last December 11 at 4 pm, police elements assigned at Jimenez Municipal Police Station under the direct supervision of Police Major Rolinson John Cabal, together with agents from Criminal Investigation and Detection Group conducted an operation at the said area after receiving information from a concerned citizen on the whereabouts of Ello and served the warrant of arrest.
The suspect is now under the custody of Jimenez Police Station for proper disposition.
