The Toyota Company fetches up their new-fangled innovated hybrid electric vehicle evolution (HEV) that features an eco-friendly and efficient fuel-saving technology on its three models and showcasing them during Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan’s Engineering week at its main campus last February 21 this city.

The new Prius, Prius C, and Corolla Altis are hybrid cars that use electrifying eco-motors with revolutionary machinery specially designed for highly urbanized and traffic-congested cities offering a much comfortable drive and fuel-saving capabilities compared to its predecessors.

Its forward-thinking mechanism supports the fuel using the Hybrids’ electric battery (nickel-metal hydride) to sustain the vehicle’s movement and in turn reduces almost half of the consumption of fuel compared to common vehicles you see today.

The car’s battery according to Toyota, should last as long as the car and have already taken the necessary steps in ensuring the battery would not leak hazardous materials if ever an accident occurs.

In a hybrid car such as the Corolla Altis, the electric power runs simultaneously to support the petrol-side of the engine it works hand-in-hand with each other – seamlessly to provide you the power and efficient fuel consumption.

The Japanese car manufacturer has invested time and resources to bring you the best in eco-friendly vehicles to date. And with the volatile gas prices in today’s market, and with a growing number of consumers opting for a cleaner lifestyle and this includes the choice in vehicles. It’s a perfect time for future car owners to invest in a Hybrid.

In terms of the price range of the vehicle, it’s slightly expensive compared to its gas-powered counterpart. However, in terms of a long-term investment, it’s an ideal car to invest in as you save a lot from gas.

The company launched its “Toyota HEV Campus Tour” to colleges and universities across the country. This time around they brought the tour to Cagayan de Oro and introduced the HEV its capabilities during Xavier University’s Engineering week at Grand Caprice in Limketkai.

Toyota also provided students the opportunity to test drive the new Hybrid series at XU’s main campus. Where they can compare and feel the driving experience first-hand.

The new Corolla Altis 2020 runs on a 1.8-liter four-cylinder DOHC gasoline engine and an electric motor that, combined, produce a total of 121hp at 5,200rpm and 142Nm of torque at 3,600rpm. The shift from gasoline power to electric propulsion is marked by a dull mechanical hum, followed by quietness and minimal vibration. Driving-wise, light steering and excellent visibility.
