ILIGAN City ― He is a singer, this Tom Jones fellow, He was very popular several decades ago, singing his way into the hearts of people all over the world.
Now, he’s still singing, though many people hardly mention his name.
But in every election here, his name is mentioned, though somewhat in vain. In the category of Marites which does not refer really to a woman.
But many people are afraid of this well, situation called Tom Jones. Although some have accepted “him” already.
Others are ‘TVH’ ― trying very hard. Not to be in this situation, so he does this, he does that. If only not to become a “Tom Jones.” While others try to dislodge this persona.
I call them the “clingers” and the “dislodgers.” Between them are the watchers, who enjoy watching them.
It is not only the “enjoy” aspect that completes these watchers. There too is that
“terrified” aspect. Such as the job order casuals who might become “casualties” if their favorite benefactor becomes a “Tom Jones.” And they’ll only know it after May 9.
The “clingers” and the “dislodgers” then engage in demolition, even if mostly in verbal demolitions, the hotter, the bitter, no I think something’s got to give.
At times though some are fearful that this might become more than “verbal!”
In the end, though, it seems it’s only tatay Digs who are enjoying I mean accepting this fate of being a “Tom Jones” or “taman June” this year only!
The others are simply TVH so as not to become “Tom Cruise,” I mean “Tom Jones.”
Now in the hot issue in the international scene particularly Ukraine, can we say that the embattled country is “Tom Jones?” Can they make it up to June?
Oh, by the way, there was once a time when job order casuals here were termed as “Tom Cruise” ― as in “taman mayor pas Kiko Cruz.”
