ILIGAN City ― Valentines, like rice, can be planted too. And planting rice "is never fun. bent from morn till the set of sun". so a song of yesteryears goes. Because, who is the bender, di ba ang planter? But for a Valentine planter, he is having all the fun.

Take this Netflix story, "A Fall from Grace." Shanon, a young photographer has a photo exhibit in a museum somewhere in America. At first, Grace didn't want to attend that much talk about the exhibit. What does it matter to her anyway? She was reeking from a painful divorce. Her friend Sarah though convinced her to go. It would be a good distraction from the state of mind Grace was in.

So, with some hesitation, she came to that exhibit in the museum. And there, Shanon. the photographer noticed her. And then after their introduction, he dropped hints and clues about his feelings.

Grace was flattered. And simply ecstatic.

So, the unavoidable happened. They dated. And dated some more. He was a terrific lover.

Then came the marriage proposal. Well, they got married, Shanon and Grace.

The first few married days were filled with happiness, of course. But then, one day, Grace's boss told her that some accounts of the bank especially under her supervision and control simply disappeared. Meaning, the balances suddenly got zero.

Grace was then kicked out of the bank she had been working with for so many years. At home, when hubby Shanon asked her what was the matter, she told him what happened. He then told her he would help her get to the bottom of that one.

As days went by though, within their now not so ecstatic married life, a financial institution got nasty with her. Because the mortgage that she had taken on the house she lived with her new hubby had long been delayed in the payments. "But I have fully paid the mortgage on it two years ago!" she exclaimed on Shanon's face.

The latter replied that he had the right to take in a new mortgage on the house because he now "co-owned" the house too.

Grace hit the roof in anger. With a baseball bat, she hit Shanon hard with it as he was sitting on a chair with his back towards her. Which set him crumpled on the floor. mortally hit by the bat.

What to do? Grace contacted her friend Sarah to help her in her predicament.

That was what Grace told Jasmine, the lawyer when the latter visited the now-imprisoned Grace in her cell.

Jasmine's boss told her that it was "an open and shut case. Meaning, Grace was simply "guilty." No doubt about it. But when she heard Grace's story, she thought something was odd. So she encouraged Grace to go on trial. Which Grace reluctantly agreed. For one thing, there was no dead body of the guy she "murdered" during a fit of extreme anger.

No surprise here. The judge handling the case decided "guilty" for Grace. A discouraged Jasmine. the lawyer wasn't happy with the result even as she was pictured too that she was a "novice" in the matter of lawyering.

And then, one day when she was going about the city thinking things over, Jasmine came upon a friend of Grace who was about to enter a house. Jasmine followed her and the two talked about what happened. Like Grace, the woman had also a happening. For her house too would soon become not hers anymore, No thanks to someone like Grace' Shanon.

The two then entered the house of Grace's friend and the two were stopped in their tracks as there were people now "guarding'' the house!

Jasmine's hubby too, a police officer who was now very concerned about Jasmine, followed his wife. And the 3, discovered something in the house. Somewhere in a room. some women were detained. All of them were defrauded of their treasures like houses and bank accounts. Compliments of Shanon and well, Sarah. the "friend" of Grace. They were mostly elderly women too, like Grace.

They all succumbed to "planted'' valentines!

Planting some valentines then was fun for the "planters." Similar to "love scams" which we hear from time to time in this country's national news reports.

The judge then apologized to Grace even as Sarah and Shanon (who didn't die after all) were really "in a relationship." So, what happened to the two "planters."?

Let's leave the matter in the meantime. Because there's another "planting" story that might affect us all. Conspiracy theorists say that the Covid 19 pandemic is a "planted" one. Yet, we don't have to dwell on that anymore, because, this is now, water under the bridge, so to speak.

But I am a little bothered. Because there's talk of another "pandemic" to be "planted" soon. Which is said to be 20 times "more deadly" than Covid. Which doesn't have a name yet. so it is named by these theorists, in the meantime, as "Disease X". (Is this a "relative' of Twitter, ha ha ha, but this is no laughing matter…). Even as vaccines to are beginning to be manufactured already! This is said to be the work of pharmaceutical companies "in cooperation with the biggest contributors to the World Health Organization. like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation."

This might not necessarily be true, that this too is a "planted" thing, to maximize their profits.

A great part of me dismisses this "planting" idea. Yet, a part of me is considering the "planting" aspect too.!
