“THE Single Rose” by Andrea St. Thomas is a sequel to the timeless classic of Antoine de Saint-Exupery’s “The Little Prince.”
The book was launched during the 38th Manila International Book Fair and was likewise featured at the 68th Berlin International Book Fair in Germany in October 2017. Today, it carries a Polish translation.
The Single Rose centers on “The Rose” which was left behind on the planet once inhabited by the Little Prince. “The Little Prince” as we all know, is one of the most read books in the world.
The book tells of The Rose’s hope for the return of The Little Prince. In each passing day, in each hoping moment, The Rose meets characters from near and far, all of whom take her into the world of fear, friendship, fecundity, and faith.
“Will the little prince come back?” For those who are curious to find out, St. Thomas offers symbolisms through a light read narrative aimed at bringing a degree of introspection.
St. Thomas hopes for The Rose to be talked about in schools, during coffee table meets, at after-parties, or at the privacy of one’s thoughts, at about anytime, anywhere, by anyone, by everyone.
Our sources confirmed that the author resides in the country’s capital and is a native of Cagayan de Oro (and that she studied at Xavier University). Gold Star Daily has learned that St. Thomas completed the book while on a short sojourn in the United States.
The illustrations are from Galera Fernandez, a young artist who has well captured St. Thomas’ words and translated them into his art using traditional hand illustrations.
