THE members of the Regulatory Compliance Board and its indefatigable Inspectorate Team recently took their oath of office before Mayor Klarex Uy. As we know, members of the RCB and its various committees or teams are constituted annually per City Ordinance No. 4373-94.
Mayor Klarex reconstituted the RCB via Executive Order No. 008-2023 on January 6, 2023. The reconstitution reiterates the RCB's functions and mandate. Its authority to regulate businesses is also guaranteed and protected by Sections 605-607 of the said City Ordinance.
Now that the pandemic has waned, the atmosphere has allowed the RCB to all the more be aggressive in its monitoring, inspection, and enforcement functions through the Inspectorate Team which is headed by Board Member Ton Resma with Mikoy Hojas as his second-in-command.
Mainstays in the Team include Glenn Alta, Madel Beduya, and police officers assigned by Board member PCol. Aaron Mandia, COCPO City Director. Other incoming members of the Team will be officially appointed by the Board shortly.
The other members of the Board include vice chairpersons Councilor Romeo Calizo and Girlie Balaba, Councilors Jay Pascual and Suzette Daba, City Prosecutor Charisse Bitoon, Nestor Banuag of Xavier University, City Administrator Roy Raagas.
Building Official Engr. Joel Momongan, the NBI, the Commission on Human Rights, Ms. Myra Balandra, Bishop Dimver Andales, Atty. Ton Neri, and City Treasurer Jing Maagad.
With the reconstitution of the RCB, it will again be in full swing. It will also reorganize the committees and teams it has created via Board resolutions.
As we have been saying, the RCB is not anti-business but we mean business in enforcing regulations.
