WEDNESDAYS are when the people get to become physically nearer to the city government of Cagayan de Oro.

Don’t get me wrong. The city government has always been near the people. Wednesdays are dubbed People’s Day because City Mayor Klarex Uy and the entire bureaucracy are gathered in one venue for ease of coordination and to effectively address the people's concerns.

City Mayor Klarex Uy himself sees to it that he personally talks to whoever wants to see him. On the other hand, the entire bureaucracy is also at hand to immediately attend to the constituents for their specific concerns.

The People’s Day used to be held in the office of Mayor Klarex but the limited space necessitated its transfer to a bigger location to now include the entire bureaucracy.

Departments are aptly represented in the People’s Day. Needless to state, the mayor can only do so much in a given limited period, but with the entire bureaucracy in tow, more concerns and requests are addressed “at the flick of a finger.”

The City Hall quadrangle has become the people’s haven every Wednesday starting at eight o’clock in the morning. People who hesitate to even attempt to state their minds for whatever reason can freely talk to Mayor Klarex or the appropriate office representative.

Government officials have their respective ways of delivering services to the people. The People’s Day, along with Klarex nga Serbisyo sa Baryo, is the service brand of Mayor Klarex Uy.
