THE City Government’s preparation for this year’s business permit renewal may be said to have left no stone unturned with the creation of an Event Management Team that has done the planning to ensure expeditious processing of applications. Both face-to-face and online transactions were prepared for the last detail.
The licensing or permitting period started last January 3, 2023, and would have lasted only until January 20 had it not been extended until February 28 by the City Government.
But what’s the catch?
One will notice that the City Tourism Hall where the business permitting transactions are being housed is not even half-full. In fact, one acquaintance of mine had her business permit renewed in a matter of only ten minutes, she told me.
And that is not only because of the seamless processes that are put in place but also because only a few business operators or their representatives actually have their business permits renewed while the deadline is still several weeks away.
“Unya na-habit?” Maybe.
Face-to-face transactions are complemented by the online processing of applications.
Hopefully, the huge number of online processes is the main reason face-to-face transactions are only minimal in number. Otherwise, the deadline should not have been extended after all.
Or is it the “unya na” habit that we (or some if not most of us) have been used to?
