ILIGAN City ― Congressman Frederick Siao and the rest of his team who call themselves “Solid 15” filed their Certificates of Candidacy this morning.

All wearing blue shirts, they came in a convoy of 30 vehicles with some of them inside the vehicles, others walking along the slow-moving vehicles waving at supporters along the streets, with some of them also wearing blue shirts.

The group then first proceeded to the Catholic church at Del Carmen barangay. After hearing a Mass they proceeded to Robinson Mall at Barangay Tubod, this city where Commission on Elections personnel was waiting for them.

Some of the streets were lined with blue tarps planted on the grounds near the sides of the streets where the words “Solid 15” were written on them with big letters.

Siao, to note, is running for city mayor.

Of the 12 candidates for councilors, four are incumbents, four candidates hope to come back at the council, and four are neophytes.

It was not known yet when the teams of city mayor Celso G. Regencia, which is known as the “Red” team, will be filing their CoCs, neither is the team of Atty. Zaragoza.

On its Facebook post, Regencia said is running for congressman after mulling for another run as mayor per the opinion of a lawyer from Manila, even if he has been mayor for three terms already because of some technicalities.

Vice mayor Jemar Vera Cruz is running for mayor while incumbent councilor Ian Uy is running for Vice Mayor. Five are incumbents, one wants a comeback, while the rest are first-timers and old politicians.

Lawyer Zaragoza also hasn’t specified his running mate for vice mayor or the rest of his team.
