SOME Capitol employees in Misamis Oriental received their midyear bonuses yesterday, June 20, at last.

Employees expressed relief in messages sent to Gold Star Daily, saying the delayed bonuses had caused financial strain.

Jezel, who previously voiced frustration about the delay, confirmed she received her bonus yesterday.

“Thank you kaayo gyud. Finally, makabayad nami sa among nautangan ug makapalit nasad sa mga gamit sa bata nga wa pa mapalit,” she said.

George, a solo parent who earlier said he felt distressed over the delayed release of his clothing and midyear bonuses, also confirmed receipt of his midyear bonus Friday afternoon.

“Finally, na-download na gahapon 4 pm ang among midyear,” he said. He added he is thankful the delay has ended.

Although a portion of his salary and clothing allowance remains unreleased, George told Gold Star Daily, he is hopeful it will be disbursed next week.

Basin next week, hopefully ang uban,” he said.

Provincial Administrator John Ladaga confirmed Friday that some employees had already received their bonuses.

Ladaga explained the delay was due to the treasurer’s scheduled staggered release of the bonuses.

Ang uban ani nakadawat naman, ang uban maoy wala pa kay gi-schedule mani pag-release,” he said.

Ladaga assured that funds for remaining clothing allowances are ready and the treasurer’s office is working to complete the disbursement.
