ILIGAN City ― This city’s lone district Rep. Frederick Siao told reporters over the weekend that did not course through the barangay officials the relief goods he distributed because these were paid for with his own money.
“This is my personal funds and it is limited,” Siao said.
He said his team identified the people who needed the relief goods the most.
“In these times of need brought about by Covid-19, we have to do drastic measures to alleviate the sufferings of those who need it most,” he explained.
His staff, he said, gave the relief goods to habal-habal drivers, sikad drivers, kutseros, and others in similar situations. He said members of the Lower House do not have calamity funds.
He added that he is now on his last two days of home quarantine.
