ILIGAN City ― The present administration under City Mayor Frederick Siao has launched a local political party over the weekend.

City Administrator Dr. Darwin Manubag yesterday told reporters that the launching of the “Asenso Iliganon” party was organized on Saturday at the Luinab gymnasium.

“There are many supporters of the party,” he said.

Manubag said the new political party is chaired by Siao while the incumbent Vice Mayor Marianito ‘Dodong’ Alemania serves as its vice chairman.

President is Councilor Rosevi ‘Queenie’ Belmonte. Head of financial operations, is Bong Capitan, he added.

Manubag brushed off the allegation that the new party is “early politicking” by simply replying: “So be it.”

“The party is participative and is in line with this administration’s 15 Iligan Development Goals,” he added.

To recall the present administration under Siao won most of the local seats in the city, save for three councilors and the post of congressman which went to then City Mayor Celso G. Regencia.
