A total of 150 individuals at Barangay San Simon, one of the hinterland barangays in the city, received early Christmas gifts from the Cagayan de Oro Police Office (Cocpo) led by Police City Director Aaron Mandia, Tuesday.
Police Major Ivan Viñas, Cocpo spokesman said residents of the said village were happy after receiving food packs and grocery boxes including colorful caps with face masks with a total amount of P45,000.
The said activity, Viñas said, was funded by the National Task Force to End Local Communist armed Conflict in coordination with other government line agencies.
Dubbed as “Elcac and Duterte Legacy Barangayanihan Caravan Towards National Recovery,” Viñas said, the activity would be in Barangay Baikingon, another hinterland barangay in the city.
The group was warmly welcomed by barangay officials headed by its barangay chairman Franco Montano.
The same activity was also coordinated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development-10, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-10, Bureau of Fire Protection-10, Cagayan de Oro Water District, all police stations in the city, Task Force Oro, Kusgan Volunteer, CMFC personnel, USAR, and Task Force Kwatro.
