THE spirited spikers of Barangay Salubsob basked in celebration after a thrilling decision win, 2-1 over the hard-fighting Barangay Poblacion in the women’s volleyball final of the Paglaum Cup Sportsfest 2024 held, over the weekend, in Kinoguitan, Misamis Oriental.
This, as Barangay Bolisong volleybelles proved too strong for their counterparts from Barangay Suarez, winning in two straight sets in the battle for third place.

The hard-pounding Salubsob ladies were ecstatic about their feat as it was Bolisong, whom they had fought hard earlier, as the first team to advance in the semifinals after a tough encounter with Barangay Esperanza powered by the five-foot-six tall open hitter Chloe Santina Miano.
In men’s volleyball, Barangay Buko also prevailed in the equally exciting fight for the third spot.
Exploding right from the go, the Barangay Buko spikers left nothing to chance, bombarding Barangay Esperanza for a 2-0 win.
Barangay Poblacion and Barangay Bolisong will dispute the men’s volleyball crown of the Paglaum sportsfest bankrolled by the Provincial Capitol of Misamis Oriental through Governor Peter ‘Sr Pedro’ M. Unabia.
