LANAO del Norte police arrested a rape suspect who is also the number 1 most wanted person in the country at 11 pm Tuesday in Barangay Lapasan, this city.
Police Col. Aaron Mandia, Acting Cagayan de Oro City Police (Cocpo) Director, identified the suspect as Mark James Paglinawan, 25, a resident of Zone 8, Barangay Samburon, Linamon, Lanao del Norte.
Paglinawan was arrested at Bagonga Street of the said barangay by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by a Judge (name withheld) from the Regional Trial Court, 12th Judicial Region-Branch 7, Tubod, Lanao Del Norte with no bail bond recommended.
The Department of Internal and Local Government put the bounty to the suspect’s head to P130,000 to whoever could inform the police as to the whereabouts of the suspect and the latter’s successful arrest.
Tagged as manhunt Charlie operation, the arrest was a joint operation composed of elements from Lanao del Norte policemen led by Police Lt. Glenn Lacanaria and Police Lt. Regil Laurence Anonat, Agora Police Station 3 of Cocpo, Linamon Municipal Police Office, and also the Regional Intelligence Group-10 of the Police Regional Office 10.
The suspect is now temporarily under the custody of Agora police for proper disposition.
