Over 270 drug personalities promise to change selves

BUTUAN City--The Caraga police yesterday said 272 self-confessed drug pushers and users came forward in two provinces in the region since it implemented a renewed campaign against illegal drugs, and promised to become reformed citizens.
Police regional director Chief Supt. Rolando Felix said that of the 272 who came forward, 200 are from Rosario, Agusan del Sur while the rest are from Placer, Surigao del Norte.
Felix said the self-confessed drug pushers and users promised to stay away from illegal drugs, and they even signed promisory notes.
Felix also called on local governments to come up with comprehensive livelihood and employment programs, pointing out that most of the suspects were jobless.
