I heard on radio that the traffic code of Cagayan de Oro will be reviewed for possible amendments by the city committee on public utilities.
In fact, a technical working group was reported to have been created already, chaired by the inept traffic office manager.
While it is true that the traffic code is already 18 years old and may have to undergo some amendments, most of its provisions are still very much applicable today.
The problem is not any outdated provision of the code, but on the inaction by traffic enforcers on the streets. And why do traffic enforcers do not perform what they are supposed to do? Again, the root of the problem will always point to incompetent traffic managers.
Some informants are saying that a certain cliffhanger is only good at making money instead of helping manage traffic properly. And the sad thing is that he is reported to be designated by a task force chairman to a position that supervises other traffic enforcers under a special task force. If that isn't a waste of people's money, granting that it is true, I don't know what it is.
Favoritism is indeed something prevalent in the traffic office, the informants are claiming. They also mention The Sister who acts like she is on top of everyone else in the traffic office.
She is reported to be using RTA resources for her personal business in the office. Where can one find a very low ranking employee being served by a driver and can use a government vehicle at will? You don't have to look elsewhere!
Mayor Uy needs to listen very closely to the grapevine in the traffic office to at least reduce his problems in running the city.
If my informantion iright, the RTA has the most number of consultants among the various departments in the city government.
Is the RTA that incompetent that it needs that many consultants? And what have those consultants contributed to easing up the traffic problems?
