CAGAYAN de Oro business groups have pledged support for the Bureau of Internal Revenue’s (BIR) 2025 tax campaign, “Buwis na Tapat, Tagumpay Nating Lahat,” showcasing their commitment to nation-building.

Launched by BIR Revenue District Office (RDO) 98, the campaign aims to raise tax awareness and highlight the critical role taxes play in national progress. Business executives emphasized that responsible tax payments benefit both the community and businesses.

Engr. Almarco C. Brito, president of the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (Oro Chamber), stressed the importance of viewing taxes as an investment. He plans to support a tax forum in March to educate businesses and the public on the significance of taxes for development.

For his part, Efren T. Uy, president of the Misamis Oriental Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (MOFCCCI), described tax payments as the “lifeblood” of the government, essential for funding infrastructure and disaster response efforts.

Henry S. Dy, president of the Cagayan de Oro Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (CDOFCCII), noted that a stable economy relies on a solid tax system. He praised BIR’s modernization efforts, which simplify compliance and enhance public confidence.

The collective support from these business groups emphasizes their commitment to promoting a culture of tax compliance, crucial for economic recovery and a brighter future for every Filipino.
