OPOL Mayor Jayfrancis Bago has been elected the new president of the League of the Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Misamis Oriental Chapter.

Fifteen of the 23 municipal mayors in Misamis Oriental convened on July 11 to elect the new LMP president. Bago was the sole nominee and ran uncontested among the 15 mayors. He succeeded Mayor Donato Chan of Medina.

Bago stated that the chapter serves as a venue to discuss the development of the municipalities in Misamis Oriental.

Ang among mga interes mga development, so kinahanglan magtinabanga ang mga municipality,” Bago said.

Bago will also represent the league at the national level and in the Regional Development Council (RDC).

He assured that he will work hand-in-hand with Misamis Oriental Governor Juliette Uy, as his representation falls within the jurisdiction of Misamis Oriental.

The newly elected LMP officials are: Vice President Mayor Nadya Emano-Elipe of Tagoloan, Secretary Mayor Mercy Grace Acain of Initao, Treasurer Mayor Charlie Buhisan of Magsaysay, Auditor Mayor Dennis Roa of Naawan, and Public Relations Officer Mayor Emmanuel Jamis of Alubijid.

The members of the Board of Directors are Mayor Allan Mynard Sofocado of Libertad, Mayor Wellie Lim of Lugait, Mayor Stephen Tan of Manticao, Mayor Candy Unabia of Balingoan, and Mayor Redentor Jardin of Jasaan.
