DIGOS City ― Police investigators in are into intensive interrogation on the suspect in hacking his 33-year-old live-in partner on the night of May 9 in Barangay Manambulan, Tugbok District, Davao City.
Major Carol Jabagat, police chief of Tugbok police identified the victim as Jean Angel Agustin Delgado, a resident of Barangay Manambulan.
The suspect, Saneboy Lagangga Timbal, 31, a permanent resident of Gingoog City, surrendered to the authorities just hours after the bloody incident.
Crime investigators found out that the daughter of Delgado, a minor, witnessed the incident but failed to pacify the rage of his step-father who was in the act of hacking her mother in different parts of the body inflicting severe injuries leading to her death.
Police learned that a verbal tussle ensued inside their residence in Barangay Tamugan on May 8 wherein Timbal left the house.
However, at about 8:20 am on May 9, Timbal went back to their house, armed with an 18-inch steel bolo, and hacked Delgado several times before fleeing to an unknown direction bringing the bladed weapon along with him.
The daughter further told the police, she was sleeping on a couch in the living area and woke up due to the commotion between the couple where she tried to get hold of Timbal who in turn told her to get away or she will be hacked, too.
The Scene Of The Crime Operatives arrived at the place of the incident shortly before noon for the processing protocol before bringing the cadaver to Angel Funeral Home in Calinan District, Davao City for autopsy examination.
