ILIGAN City ― The giving of "ayuda" half of the time remains controversial. Some people here say that those who always receive them are those "near the hearts" of the officials, like the barangay or the city officials.
Maybe that's true to some extent. But on the other side of the coin, some officials say that the prospective receivers of such assistance from the government don't bother to entertain such people who come into their houses to come up with data regarding the status of such households. The persons in a particular house would just say that at the moment, to these enumerators. They are busy. With doing the laundry perhaps, Or doing some cooking.
So, the ones who are making some census are just too happy to leave.
And then when "ayuda" time comes, what happens? It becomes complaining time. Like where is our "ayuda"? Why didn't we receive any?
It takes two to tango, they say. And what do they say of such a dance called tango? It's a vertical expression of some horizontal desire. Whatever the position of such "desire" this involves cooperation. Of the dancers. But for those nearer the ladle, or the "hearts"? Of the persons who have those laddles?
Well, someone complained that he got nearer to plenty of laddles or "luwag" and even posted them on social media yet nothing happened. Meaning, he did not receive such "ayuda."
I can only say one thing. Wrong kind of "luwag."
So this "nearer, nearer" kind of narrative remains controversial.
Another controversial thing, which some people here pointed out is the "Maharlika Investment Fund." Some people here pointed out that it wasn't mentioned in PBBM SONA. Oh, yes. Why did he not mention it when it was a favorite topic of his administration when he first set foot in this palace at the beginning of his term? Of course, we know that moolah to have this materialized would come from the SSS. The GSIS, the DBP, and the Land Bank. Good that some people, especially in the GSIS and the SSS were making some noise. Thus these two were excluded. "Nabudol ta!" I heard one Pinoy comment on air on a local radio.
I agreed with him. And talking about "Maharlika" this term is also copied from the namesake of dayunyor. Along with the terms "Kadiwa" and "Bagong". One remembers "Kadiwa" too and "Bagong Lipunan." Which reminds me of a script in a movie then, "Bituing Walang Ningning" in which the character of the story played by the late Cherie Gil said to a character played by Mega Sharon: "You're nothing but a second rate, trying hard copycat!"
And then this WPS/SCS. He says, in tagalog that this is ours. Of which we see that he had some standing ovation on that. Never mind if the DU30 father and daughter were not around to debunk that kind of talk, Because, as the father said, this decision as in UNCLOS is "nothing but some piece of paper that can be thrown to some garbage can." Or words to that effect.
I was relieved that PBBM did not mention the word " war" which he did earlier, if there is as much as one Pinoy that would die because of the harassment being done in that area.
This is a polarizing matter. Many people have the view that this stance of this current President of ours is being: dictated by Uncle Sam. Many see as the Uncle will see to it that our "anger| will come to the point that we are ready to wage war against this "bully" in the WPS.
Someone posted on social media saying that if we engage in a war vs. China we win over them. Can we feed them all? All this and more and some are no laughing matter.
