ILIGAN City ― In a statement over the weekend, a lawyer said that the barangay chair of Tibanga, this city finally was served the dismissal order from the Ombudsman.
Lawyer for the complainant, Atty. Moises Dalisay, Jr., barangay treasurer Marissa Cabili said the order was served last Thursday, September 17 to the chair of said barangay Camilo Anduyan, by the Department of Interior and Local Government city director Edward Bhagwani.
Dalisay said this has no relation to the complaints in connection with the mess in the implementation of the Social Amelioration Program for which he was suspended last year for 90 days.
Anduyan had since then returned to his post after said suspension.
This latest order, the lawyer said is for another set of “anomalies.” It was then learned that it had something to do with “unauthorized” bank withdrawals of barangay funds, unremitted proceeds of the sale of barangay equipment, favoring of bids to his family, and other similar acts.
He then added that said decision is on the “administrative” aspect yet. The said body still has to act on the “criminal” aspect.
First kagawad then of said barangay has assumed as chair, Roy Cooper who on a statement early this week enjoined people especially in Tibanga, saying that “this is a great responsibility” and that they’ve got to move on and “leave the past behind.”
