ILIGAN City -- A man, displaced by the 2017 Marawi Siege, died at a hospital in this city on Sunday. Iligan officials are alarmed, fearing it could be a Covid-19 case.
Iligan city government spokesman Jose Pantoja said the patient was rushed to the hospital from Lanao del Sur at Sunday and he died just a few hours later.
He said officials were looking into a report that the patient’s brother fled just before authorities came to prevent the dead man’s relatives from leaving the hospital.
As of press time, Pantoja said, the local task force and hospital executives were meeting to decide on their course of action.
