CAGAYAN de Oro City councilor yesterday, Nov. 5 commended the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Northern Mindanao (PDEA-10) for two recent successful operations that netted a combined street value of more than P20 million in illegal drugs.
Councilor Roger G. Abaday praised the agency during the 21st City Council’s afternoon session, citing the two operations that led to the arrest of suspects and the significant seizure of shabu (methamphetamine).
The first operation, conducted Oct. 22, was a joint effort by the PDEA Misamis Oriental Provincial Office and other law enforcement units at a local mall. It resulted in the confiscation of one kilogram of shabu valued at P6.8 million, along with drug paraphernalia and a vehicle used in the transport.

That bust was supervised by Intelligence Officer Expedito Cardona, working with the Regional Enforcement Unit (RDEU) Team and the Philippine National Police City Intelligence Unit led by Maj. Mario Mantala.
A subsequent operation, also led by Cardona, involved the City Intelligence Office of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office under Maj. Dennis Rowell Flores and RDEU-10 led by Maj. Jayvee Babaan.
This massive haul resulted in the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of 17 kilograms of shabu, with an estimated street value of P115.6 million.
Abaday confirmed that charges have been filed against the suspects. He urged authorities to sustain the campaign against illegal drugs in the city.
