THE National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced that power consumers will face a slight increase in transmission rates on their November 2025 bills, following an official statement issued by the company on Monday.
According to a press release from Mae Roselle L. Curiano, Government Relations and Regional Affairs Officer of the NGCP, the increase is primarily due to a rise in Ancillary Services (AS) rates.
The AS rates went up by P0.0997/kWh, rising from P0.6546/kWh in September to P0.7542/kWh in October — a 15.23% increase.
The NGCP emphasized that it does not earn from Ancillary Services and does not benefit from any change in AS prices.
Rate changes detail
The transmission wheeling rate also saw a minor increase of P0.0034/kWh, moving from P0.5920/kWh in September to P0.5953/kWh in October, a 0.57% rise.
As a result, the overall average transmission rate for the October 2025 billing period increased by 7.91% to P1.5105/kWh, up from P1.3998/kWh in September.
NGCP further clarified that the increase in transmission wheeling rates has no effect on its revenue, as the company’s income is cap-limited by the Energy Regulatory Commission.
