CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy addressed the 2,001 new City Scholars during the Scholars’ Assembly and Orientation held at the Capitol University Gymnasium, emphasizing the importance of responsibility and merit in maintaining their scholarships.
In his speech, Mayor Uy even called on the scholars to take ownership of their New Scholars of 2001 urged to be responsible and Uphold Merit journey by consistently performing well and demonstrating that they deserve the city’s support.
He highlighted that the scholarship is more than just financial assistance; it is a recognition of their potential to contribute to the city’s future.
The mayor reiterated that education is a cornerstone of community development and a vital investment in the city’s growth.
“This scholarship is a testament to your potential and our belief in your capacity to shape a better future for Cagayan de Oro,” he said.
He also stressed that maintaining good academic standing is a responsibility that each scholar must uphold to honor the trust placed in them by the city.
