Food parks in this city has become a trend for food lovers to visit and dine-in for its simple setup and a wide variety of food stalls to choose from that serves different kinds of dishes and drinks all in one place – and one new addition in the Uptown scene is MJ’s Food Park.
MJ’s is a two-story food park located at Pueblo Business Park near Prawn House Suite & Restaurant and opens at 5 pm to 12 midnight. It recently had its grand opening on Friday, December 13 spearheaded by its owner Judith Malalis and its tenants. It’s an open-area food park with a breezy ambiance, it’s practical in design, and offers a decent price range for everyone to enjoy.
The said food park offers five local food stalls that are unique from each other. Ribs & Steaks offers delicious sweet & spicy spare ribs and baby back ribs each at P149. They also offer juices and a special dessert called “Knickers Backer,” compose of fresh fruits, special cream in ice topped with ice cream and resembles the Filipino favorite Halo-halo.
Zuri’s Crib, unlike its branch in Lifestyle district, they offer a different menu for its uptown branch. Zuri’s offers rice meals priced at P99 and budget meals for P55. Their P99 menu consists of cordon bleu, sisig, pork chop, chicken or pork Tonkatsu, Teriyaki, and Lechon Kawali. While its P55 menu offers sausage, lumpia, hotdog, and pork siomai. Like Ribs & Steaks’ knickers backer, Zuri’s also offers special cocktail mixes, the Blue lagoon, tequila sunset and paradise island ranging from P90 to P350. Cocktail’s not doing enough justice? They also serve hard liquors if you want that extra kick.
You have probably tasted Shrimpips at its Grand Central (Pabayo-Hayes) branch and at the Hive, Limketkai center. But if you haven’t then here’s your chance. Shrimpips offers fairly decent dishes in their menu to choose from. One of its bestsellers are its Cajun Spicy Shrimp and the deep-fried “Butterfly Squid”. The Cajun shrimp is a nice way to enjoy your seafood - it’s made of Cajun sauce mixed with herbs and spices. Shrimpips also offers affordable and delicious rice meals and salads “Salarrito” among others.
Meanwhile at Wingman, as the name suggest this food stall offers deep-fried chicken wings. Their rice bowl is priced at P70 consist of 2pcs chicken, rice and corn. It also offers meals good for 3 with 1 dozen wings and (3) rice and it's signature dip at P278 and P148 good for two. You can also enjoy their signature wings for merienda at P120 you get 4 wings, waffle friend and dip.
Lastly, MJ’s Grill owned by Judith Malalis, their menu is an old-fashion one that never goes out of style in this city – Simply because we love our barbecue. MJ's Grill offers five Filipino favorites the Halang-halang (P65), pork (P25) & chicken (P95) barbecue, grilled tuna panga at P245, and beef soup for P65.
Overall during my visit, it’s safe to say that it’s another great place to hang out at in Uptown CDO with friends and family, and hits the important points of a food park – ample parking space, affordable, delicious meals, and a clean surrounding. Aside from the above, it’s also worth mentioning that the food park is far from the main road, so you won’t have to deal with traffic noise nor the smell of exhaust while you eat, which is always a BIG plus on my book, especially when it comes to outdoor food places.
