JAIL guards at the Misamis Oriental Provincial Jail confiscated a sachet of suspected shabu after conducting its third surprise inspection on Friday morning.
Jail Warden Dominador Tagarda posited that the illegal drugs may have been thrown inside the facility by an accomplice.
“Dili man makadala ang mga dalaw og illegal drugs sa sulod kay amo man sila nga (garikisahon) sa gate pa lang daan. So gi-itsa gyud kini sa koral,” Tagarda told the Gold Star Daily.
Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano commended Tagarda and his personnel for an effective jail inspection.
Emano said he ordered Tagarda to conduct a series of surprise inspection as part of the province’s effort to keep contrabands from getting smuggled into the prison facility.
In its earlier surprise inspections, jail guards were able to seize illegal drug paraphernalia, bladed weapons, cellphones, charger, and playing cards. Nitz Arancon
