MISAMIS Occidental nutrition action office holds its 46th Nutrition Month celebration with the unveiling of the provincial nutrition action plan 2021 at Cultural Farmers Training Center.
"The important freedom to be won is the freedom from hunger. It is equally important to be a COVID-Free Misamis Occidental,” said Misamis Occidental governor Philip Tan adding that helping each other, the people they serve will become victorious.
“Our intention is only for the welfare of the people,” said Tan.
With the support of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, the provincial government allocated a huge budget in support of the First 1000 Days program.
For her part, Misamis Occidental vice-governor Aurora Virginia Almonte encouraged all barangay nutrition scholars (BNS) and city, municipal nutrition action officers to help each other and cited the importance of the First 1000 Days in MisOcc.
"We cannot achieve environmental security and human development without addressing the basic issues of health and nutrition,” said provincial nutrition action officer Marichu G. Tijing.
“We have to find all means to downward the malnutrition problems thus, we need to prioritize food security, health services, nutrition education, livelihood assistance, and among others from our nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive programs," said Tijing. (SMRN/PIA Misamis Occidental)
