DESPITE missing the services of a star player in no less than Gingoog City Mayor Erick Cañosa, the Gingoog team (mixed men and women) was determined enough to reach the badminton championship round yesterday night at the Activity Center of the Ayala-Centrio Mall in downtown Cagayan de Oro.
Anchored by Charles Ian San Sebastian and Tedd ‘Tisoy’ Javier, the Gingoog shutters zeroed in on host Misamis Oriental, 3-0 in the semifinals to arrange a title showdown with the powerhouse Salay team, also a 3-0 winner over El Salvador in the ongoing 10th Kuyamis Festival and Paglaum MisOr-Rise CdO Cup.
