DIGOS City ― Members of the Civilian Volunteer’s Organization (CVO) in Barangay Dawis, Digos City collared a 21-year-old thief who was caught in possession of a stolen motorcycle shortly before noon on Wednesday.
In a spot report, the police said Emjay Florentino Mintalar, a pump attendant of Sea Oil Gasoline Station located at Purok Maya-Maya in Barangay Dawis reported that at about 10:20 am on April 19, he noticed that the motorcycle he parked at the gasoline station went missing and tried to look at the vicinity of the area, but there was nothing.
Lt. Colonel Hamlet Lerios, Digos City police chief narrated that a CVO member of Barangay Dawis called the police hotline asking for assistance informing them that the suspect for stealing the motorcycle is already in their custody.
When police arrived at Purok Bangus in Barangay Dawis, the CVOs turned over RD Tumonas, a resident of General Santos City being the suspect for taking the motorcycle of Mintalar.
The motorcycle is registered to Sabino Bucod Mintalar, the father of Emjay Mintalar.
Tumonas is currently detained at Digos City police station as local authorities are preparing the documents to file proper charges against him in court.
