BRIGADIER General Febie N. Lamerez has officially concluded his 38-year tour of duty in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
The Army's 4th Infantry Division (4ID) honored Lamerez, the outgoing Assistant Division Commander for Operations, with a Testimonial Parade-in-Review and Retirement Ceremony on January 6 at Camp Edilberto Evangelista in Barangay Patag, Cagayan de Oro City.
Army's 4ID commanding general Major General Michele B. Anayron Jr., led the tribute, joined by brigade and battalion commanders, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource staff.
Lamerez’s family, “mistahs,” classmates, and friends gathered to witness the culmination of his military career.
Lamerez received the Distinguished Service Star for meritorious service in a position of major responsibility, recognizing his work in peace and development.
He was also presented with a Command Plaque, a Plaque of Honorable Service, and framed medals displaying his combat and administrative awards.
A cum laude graduate of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) ‘Sambisig’ Class of 1991, Lamerez built a reputation for professionalism.
His career included key leadership roles, such as Commanding Officer of the 37th Infantry Battalion and Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations (G7) with the 6th Infantry Division.
In his farewell message, Lamerez reflected on the challenges and milestones that defined his journey, expressing gratitude to the AFP leadership, his alma mater, mentors, and colleagues.
Immediately following his retirement, Lamerez took his oath as a reservist, signaling his continued commitment to the country.
