MAYOR Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy officially began his second term as mayor of Cagayan de Oro on Tuesday, July 1. His return to City Hall marked a new chapter in his leadership of the city.
He arrived at City Hall on the first working day of the month, signaling his readiness to serve the community once again.
During his brief speech, Uy reaffirmed his commitment to public service, emphasizing care and dedication as guiding principles.
Earlier, during his speech on the city’s charter day, Uy outlined his main priorities for the next three years.
He highlighted focus areas such as infrastructure development, social services, and community engagement.
Uy also made it clear that his role extends beyond that of a traditional mayor.
He sees himself as a partner with the residents in building a better Cagayan de Oro City.
His goal is to work hand-in-hand with the community to achieve progress.
Uy’s staff welcomed him warmly as he resumed his official duties.
The atmosphere was optimistic, with staff ready to support his plans for the upcoming years.
One of the first programs to be revived is People’s Day, scheduled for Friday, July 4, according Uy.
This initiative aims to bring government services closer to residents and make interactions more accessible.
Other programs, such as Klarex nga Serbisyo (KSB) and Suruy-suruy sa Baryo, are currently being scheduled.
These projects are part of Uy’s broader plan to improve community outreach and service delivery.
The city government has also announced that more projects and initiatives are in the pipeline.
These will focus on enhancing public services and ensuring that residents receive timely assistance.
Uy’s administration is committed to transparency and inclusiveness.
He encourages residents to participate actively in community programs and share their concerns.
City Mayor's Office Chief of Staff Sheila Lumbatan said that in the coming weeks, the city will release updates and details on new projects.
Lumbatan said that the goal is to continue building a city where progress is felt by all residents, and services are made more accessible.
