MALACAÑANG on Friday, Aug. 1, confirmed the appointment of a Cagayan de Oro native to the board of the Philippine National Oil Co. (PNOC).

Presidential Spokesperson Claire Castro confirmed that Sheila Cabaraban, who is from Macasandig, Cagayan de Oro, was appointed as a PNOC board member.

Cabaraban’s term started on July 1 and will serve the PNOC board until June 30 next year.

Before her appointment, Cabaraban served as the chairman of PNOC's Audit Committee in 2024.

Cabaraban is a graduate of Misamis Oriental Comprehensive High School and earned a degree in electrical engineering from Xavier University. She also served as the Dean of the College of Engineering at Phinma-COC in Cagayan de Oro.

Cabaraban also served as president of the Integrated Institute of Electrical Engineers of the Philippines (IIEE).

Cabaraban’s term as a PNOC board member began July 1 and will expire on June 30 of next year.

PNOC is a government-owned and controlled corporation established in 1973 to ensure the country has a stable and adequate supply of petroleum.
