VETERAN journalist Jay Ruiz was sworn in today, February 24, as the ad interim secretary of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in Malacañan.
Ruiz, 50, replaces outgoing PCO chief Cesar Chavez. A former ABS-CBN journalist, he vowed to combat disinformation and effectively communicate the administration’s projects to the public.
“Ang gusto natin, malaman ng tao na ang gobyerno ay para sa tao, ” Ruiz told reporters.
He is set to officially assume office on March 1.
