THE Consul General of Japan in Davao, Ono Hirotaka, paid a courtesy visit to Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy at the City Hall on Tuesday afternoon, June 3.
Accompanying Consul General Ono were Vice Consuls Akari Oda and Airi Nakata.
They were greeted by John Asuncion, Department Manager of the Oro Trade and Investment Promotions Center (Oro-TIPC), and Assistant Department Head Raelita Legaspi.

Having assumed his post on May 9, Ono Hirotaka brings over 30 years of experience working with Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Philippines.
The visit focused on strengthening trade, investment, and collaborative efforts between Japan and Cagayan de Oro. Mayor Uy expressed the city’s enthusiasm for future partnerships with Japan and reiterated its commitment to fostering ongoing cooperation.
This engagement underscores the continuing diplomatic and economic ties between the Philippines and Japan, aimed at promoting mutual growth and development.
