THE nine-year-old boy who was allegedly beaten by four minors in Barangay Maria Cristina is set to be discharged from the hospital on Friday, August 15, his mother said.
Ginalyn Ensipido told reporters that she was relieved her son can now go home. She added that a CT scan confirmed he did not suffer any brain damage.
“Right now he can’t talk because his mouth still hurts,” the 38-year-old mother said.
Ensipido said she is still deciding whether to press charges against the suspects. She said many people have told her that the minors cannot be held liable.
“If it were up to me, I’d have them imprisoned, even if they are minors,” Ensipido said in the local dialect, adding she felt her son was nearly killed.
She urged parents to be more vigilant in protecting their children, saying, “To all parents, do not be complacent with your children; you must watch them. It’s just like what happened to my son; he didn't tell on them.”
