CURFEW has been lifted in this city.
This was the gist of the statement heard on air by residents of this city, by Jules Verne Padilla, chief of staff of mayor Frederick Siao, over the weekend.
The mayor has issued an executive order to lift the city’s curfew hours. Siao had discussed the matter with Police Col. Dominador Estrada of this city’s office.
The order includes the reactivation of force multipliers to support local law enforcers, Padilla said.
“There is, however, a liquor ban,” Padilla said.
The lifting of the curfew has been implemented for two days now, he added.
Residents here have welcomed such a move, he said after Covid struck and after two years of lockdown.
Other plans in order to make the city “more vibrant and dynamic” as this is a highly urbanized city is the return of the night market here even as plans for the city’s feast of St. Michael this coming September are being made, Padilla said.
Earlier, plans of enhancing the lights in every street were also on the agenda in the Sangguniang Panlungsod, it was learned.
