ILIGAN City ― There will be a very strict border control following the report of two confirmed Delta variant cases in the city.
Leony Roy Ga, city administrator here yesterday said that city police forces have been deployed and tasked to undertake these measures. Persons going out of the city and or going inside the city will be questioned, monitored, and such other protocols to be instituted if only to be assured that no such similar development would happen.
It was learned that the first delta variant case of the city came from Quezon City on July 8. He was admitted to Amay Pakpak Medical Center in Marawi City on July 10 and tested positive for Covid-19.
He had since recovered.
Later on August 14, it was known that he had the Delta variant after results of genome sequencing at the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine in Muntinlupa City came out.
Later when the family members of Patient D-1 were tested, the father also tested positive for the Delta variant. He, too, had been admitted to the said medical center and has also recovered.
There has been no report of other infection with the other members of the family of Patient D-1.
