POLICE manhunt is ongoing for the arrest of a certain ‘Jingjing’ who stabbed to death his fellow habal-habal driver in an incident that was captured on video by a motorist and had gone viral since yesterday evening.

The stabbing incident took place around 8 pm along Hayes St, Barangay 40 at the back of Xavier University college building in Cagayan de Oro City.

The victim, who was identified later as Roland Camanse, 30, of Barangay Camaman-an was seen in the video, trying to fight back from the ground and got away from the clutches of his knife-wielding attacker as witnesses in passing vehicles watched helplessly the bloody encounter.

He was not pursued by the suspect who was wearing a helmet to cover his face.

But the multiple stabbed wounds he suffered, including the fatal ones on his chest and neck, had the victim managing to slowly walk and stumbled seconds later by the roadside.

He was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Police Lt. Lowell Estampa, Deputy Station Commander of Cogon Police Station, said grudge led to the attack as the two engaged earlier in a fistfight along Captain Vicente St. where they used to wait for passengers.

“Aduna kini silay panag bingkil kay kana laging ilog-ilog sa pasahero mao nga nag sinumbagay. Mibahad ang suspek nga mobalik miingon pud ang biktima nga mohulat lang siya. Didto na sila nagsapon balik sa Hayes St apan kining alyas Jingjing aduna nay hinagiban,” said PS2 investigator, Master Sgt. Norberto Ian Zapra.

The police made an appeal to the suspect, who reportedly hails from Barangay Balulang, to surrender peacefully so as not to aggravate his case.

They also advised the public to report immediately any crime that is happening instead of just taking a video.
