THE Social Housing Finance Corporation has approved five new housing projects, benefiting nearly 2,000 families as part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s national housing program.
The projects, approved on Aug. 13 by the SHFC under its Enhanced Community Mortgage Program (ECMP), are located in the Bicol region, Iloilo City, and Pasig City.
This brings the total number of approved ECMP projects this month to 10.
The newly approved projects are set to benefit nearly 1,000 families across the country. The homeowners associations receiving approval include Pagkamoot Village-II HOA, Inc. and Ilaw Village HOA, Inc. in Tabaco City, Albay; Golden Spring Ville HOA, Inc. in Daet, Camarines Norte; Mirasol Village HOA in Mandurriao, Iloilo City; and Megaville 2 HOA in Pasig City.

Earlier this month, the SHFC approved five other projects in Pasig City, Valenzuela City, San Fernando City, Pampanga, and Tabaco City, Albay.
SHFC President and CEO Federico Laxa stated the approvals demonstrate the agency’s commitment to the president’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.
“The SHFC is also working to integrate livelihood opportunities and infrastructure improvements to enhance the quality of life for families,” said Laxa.
The ECMP aims to provide safe and affordable homes, with the program targeting low-income groups, including vendors, drivers, farmers, and teachers.
The program allows beneficiaries to secure legal ownership of the land where their houses are built through affordable monthly payments.
The approvals align with a directive from Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling to award lots for the initial list of ECMP projects by October.
