THE House of Representatives voted yesterday, February 5, to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio, with 215 out of 306 lawmakers backing the complaint.
Among those who formally signed the impeachment complaint were Rep. Lordan Suan (1st District, Cagayan de Oro), Rep. Christian Unabia (1st District, Misamis Oriental), and Rep. Yevgeny Vincente Emano (2nd District, Misamis Oriental).
According to a report from ABS-CBN, Senate Secretary Renato Bantug officially received the Articles of Impeachment from House Secretary General Reginald Velasco just hours after the lower house passed the measure.

Several lawmakers from Mindanao also signed the impeachment complaint, including Rep. Ace Barbers (2nd District, Surigao), Rep. Walter Palma (1st District, Zamboanga Sibugay), Rep. Peter Miguel (1st District, South Cotabato), Rep. Isidro Lumayag (2nd District, South Cotabato), and Rep. Mohamad Paglas Sr. (Maguindanao del Sur), along with 36 others.
Notably, Rep. Rufus Rodriguez (2nd District, Cagayan de Oro) did not sign the complaint.
Requests for comment from Suan, Unabia, and Emano on their decision to support the impeachment remain unanswered as of press time.
